Appending Bogen * codes to an extension

We are using an automated bell schedule solution, which works as expected, playing sound files through the speakers of snom phones. However, I need to play the same files over the bogen intercom speakers and I am looking for a way to append *01, or *00 after the paging extension so the page is sent to desired designated zone.

3CX does not offer the capability to send DTMF tones automatically during a call.
Here are my ideas:

**Solution #1**
Check with "bogen" if it's possible to simply add multiple SIP accounts that would replace *00 and *01.
The first SIP account would automatically be recognized as the equivalent of *00 and the second SIP account as the equivalent of *01, without the need to dial DTMF tones. This is similar to what several other manufacturers offer.

**Solution #2**
From what I recall, @VoIPTools offers this type of integration (automatic DTMF dialing). I might be mistaken.
Contact them for more information.

**Solution #3**
Find a SIP client application capable of handling pauses and autonomously sending DTMF tones. There are several free open-source options available, but you will need strong coding skills to achieve your goal. It is not straightforward.

**Solution #4** ( Last resort ) (This solution is not reliable but might help to find other ideas) Dedicate an old Yealink or Fanvil deskphone, for example, configured on an new extension. Use the "Actions URL and Active URI" to control the phone. Essentially, you send HTTP GET requests to the phone, which trigger "actions" as if they were entered on the phone’s keypad. Read example : Action URL and Active URI Specifications ( This guide is from 2020; check if there is a more recent version available. ) This solution is akin to blindly using the CTI function of 3CX to remotely control a phone out of your reach. To be clear, it's a very unreliable solution with a high likelihood of failure because your script would perform several actions on the phone blindly, without knowing whether the call made by the "remotely controlled phone" was answered and whether the bogen speaker is ready to receive the DTMF tones. However, I'll leave it to you to judge for yourself.

Thank you for your detailed response. I will explore the options presented. This is for Voip Tools Audio Scheduler. One response from support floated the idea of prepending the tones in the audio file.

I will see what I can do with this info.
