AT&T Dedicated Internet & Voice Bundle (ADIVB)

Hello Everyone,
The title is what was listed in the contract. Contract also said SIP Handoff (voice)
Went to do test and turn up and tech is telling me to plug data into port 2 and PBX into port 8.
So i guess it was actually IP Flex, or Business in a Box, call it something new all the time.
Explained to tech, PBX needs access to Internet, said I need Cisco router and he would put in order.
Sales person calls and wants to talk.

Anyway, if they say we have to use current config.
Is the second nic method mentioned here, the proper way to do this:

I could not find anything recent for 3CX.

I am using 3CX ISO up to date on V18.

As an aside, what is the deal with 1.1.2.21 and 1.1.2.1 for IP addresses?
From what I can tell those are valid IP addresses and it seems like AT&T uses them for all their installations.
It was given to me, the same was used in the above blog, and same IPs mentioned in another thread in this forum.

Lastly, for fun, could the 2nd NIC be in my firewall and set with a route and with appropriate port redirection for Internet traffic and voice traffic.
So 3CX uses default GW all the time but when sending/receiving to 1.1.2.1 the firewall will set up a session through its NIC connected to the AT&T device. Ports would be redirected for the incoming voice calls.

So if you have any thoughts or opinions on best way to deal with AT&T, I would appreciate them.

You will need two network cards on the PBX to use AT&T VOIP. We have a customer that has IPFlex with BVOIP.

At TTU they asked me if I needed to use public IPs on the PBX or if it didn't matter and whether I wanted 10 or 11 digit numbering.

My primary nic ens192 has all needed network information to get internet access. The secondary nic ens224 has the static ip 1.1.2.21/24 without gateway or dns and plugs into port 8 on the edgemarc 4808 BIB router. In my case the ESXi host uses one nic to plug into port 8 for the port group.

Just to complain, this means if I want to move VM to different hosts, then that host needs an extra port.
I assume this means that the VM cannot be off site?

I wound up removing G.729 from the trunk and was able to use G.711/PCMU for both directions.

If you have AT&T the only supported way is to have the PBX near the AT&T router on site.

Our AT&T equipment is on the second floor and we ran a wire to our server closet on the first floor to connect the ESXi host (Dell PowerEdge R740)

Your host will need two NICs.
