Hi I'm brand new to 3cx (free plan hosted) - moving over from FreePBX.
I went to add Trunk but it only has 4 options available. Is it possible to set up a custom trunk so I can set up Australian Phone Company ?

Hi @NightShift

On SMB machines it is not possible to add non-3CX-supported providers. If you want to use do so you will need to use a dedicated machine and not an SMB machine.

So how do I do that? I tried to install 3cx on my cloud server and it installed fine but when I got the the setup process, it kept taking to load or import the user file?

Are you referring to the xml configuration file?

so when in your portal you will select your key, and press install, then you choose 3CX Self-hosting :



you will then have a place from where you can copy the URL or downlaod the actual fine, which is the same thing :



This URL is your actual preconfiguration of the Phonesystem that will include license, email etc.

But I only need the free version.

The free SMB version you are referring to does not allow you to use unsupported providers.
This is only available for dedicated machines.

The Generic providers are only available for the On-premise or Self Hosted installations.
