Hi all,

I updated our 3CX to SP6 over the weekend, and am now testing it with my Grandstream GXP2170.

I did a Regenerate on my extension and logged in to the phone's GUI to update the Authenticate-ID and password. This would not work, no matter what I tried.

I restarted the phone, but it still wouldn't register.

I was also testing the new WebClient phone, and when I looked in the Phones section of the 3CX Management Portal, I noticed that the Webclient phone had a totally different password from the one listed under my extension. (It only had the WebRTC phone originally)

Under phones, my extension has this password:

But, when I look in my extension, I get this:

I entered the Webclient password in my phone's GUI, and it registered ok.

How did this happen? And, how do I stop this from happening when I start rolling out SP6 to our customers?

Thanks,
Marc

Just noticed that the WebGUI password has a similar issue.
After regenerating the extension, the phone web page password was changed.

In the 3CX Management Portal, the password shown under Phone Provisioning is different from the phone password shown in the phones section. The password in the Phones section is the correct one to log in to the phone's GUI.

Conicidentally, (or not) the Phone WebPage password is exactly the same as the Authentication password for my extension.

Neither of them work. The one that shows in the Phones section is correct.

Thanks,
Marc

Hi Marc,

Yes this has been reported a few times now, if you regenerate (what I originally thought to be regeneration of SIP authentication credentials) on the "Extensions page" it regenerates a whole bunch of other things - Voicemail PIN is another one.

This means you need to send out new Welcome emails to anyone you regenerate for.

Thanks eddv123,

But, sending a new welcome email won't solve my issue.

The problem I have is that the authentication password shown in the Phone Provisioning tab is not correct, and is different from the password shown in the Phones page.

If I use the password shown in the Phone Provisioning tab, the phone won't register.

Thanks,
Marc

Hello @Marc Mohring

Please clear your browsers cache or access the management console from an incognito tab to ensure that this is not a display issue.

Thanks Yiannis,
That was it!
Sometimes the simple answers are the best :)

Marc

Glad to see the issue has been resolved.
