Currently, 3CX does not have built-in automation to start recordings as soon as a meeting begins. Recording is controlled manually by the host.
  1. Automatic Recording Trigger
Enable a setting to automatically start recording as soon as a video conference begins. This removes the dependency on agents or hosts to manually initiate recording, ensuring consistent documentation of all meetings.
  2. Centralized Storage on the MCU Server
Provide an option to store video recordings directly on the private MCU server or a designated centralized storage. This approach:
    • Reduces reliance on agent-side storage.
    • Enhances security by limiting access to sensitive recordings.
    • Simplifies compliance with regulations that require secure, centralized storage.
  3. Granular Permissions for Access and Management
    • Implement role-based access controls for managing, accessing, and deleting recordings.
    • Provide an audit trail for recording access to ensure accountability and compliance.

Why This is Important

This feature is particularly critical for industries such as Banking & finance, healthcare, and legal services, where recordings are frequently used for:
  • Audit and Compliance: Ensuring all customer interactions are properly documented and retrievable.
  • Dispute Resolution: Providing evidence for legal proceedings or customer disputes.
  • Operational Consistency: Automating recording ensures no meeting is inadvertently left undocumented due to human oversight.

Potential Benefits to 3CX

  • Enhanced compliance offerings will make 3CX more attractive to regulated industries.
  • Strengthened trust and usability for enterprise customers.
  • Differentiation from competitors by providing robust recording automation options.
