Solved Bad report links - 404 Error

I've recently started having a problem with 404 errors when clicking links in schedule report emails.

Running 3CX Enterprise version 16.0.7.1078 on Linux.

I have several reports scheduled overnight, when the recipient receives the emails and clicks a link in any of the report emails he get's a 404 error.
When I check the management console I can see the generated reports and can view them, however the link (filename) from the management console is different from what is in the email.
If I SFTP into the server I see the filename referenced from the management console, but I do not see the filenames referenced in the email links.
According to the recipient it started about a week ago.
I've verified that he is clicking the correct links and not old report links.

Any idea why the email is using incorrect links?

Hi Keith!

Whic part of the filaname is wrong? If you notice, the first part of the filename is the Report Name given by the person that scheduled it. The middle part is a number, and the last part is a random alphanumeric string.

It's the random string at the end, the report name and date are the same

This is really strange. You could check the logs to see this. Just put the 3CX system in Verbose from Dashboard --> Activity Log --> Settings.

The wait until a scheduled report is send to someone. If the issue happens, from Activity Log --> Logs --> Instance, open the "3cxSystemService.log" file and look for a line like this:


For each triggered scheduled report, it tells you the local filename, the email is sent to and the HTTP link that is generated.

Could you check this way to ensure that there is not any confusion going on?

It seems that the reports with link errors are coming from the fail over server. It's running in passive mode, should it be sending reports?

No it should not. I'd suggest logging onto the Failover server and cheking if it's still in failover mode, or if it has turned into an Active role after a failover has triggered.

It turns out that the failover server was Active, not sure why but that would explain it. Thanks for your help.
