Hello,
I'm currently using the free version of 3CX for a nonprofit organization, and I've noticed a behavior that I’d like to understand better — or ideally, see improved in future versions.
When a mobile device with the 3CX app installed is turned off, the system still shows the user as "online" and keeps routing calls to that extension, even though the app cannot actually receive the call.
I understand this may be related to SIP registration timeouts and the push notification mechanism, but from a user perspective, this creates confusion and missed calls.
In many other communication platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams), the presence status updates in real time, and the system is able to detect when the user is offline or unreachable and take appropriate fallback actions.
➤ Is there any planned improvement in 3CX regarding this kind of "true presence detection", especially for mobile users?
➤ Or is there any workaround today that would allow automatic fallback routing when a mobile app is not reachable or the phone is off?
It would be very helpful to have this kind of functionality, especially in organizations where mobile app usage is widespread, and staff availability needs to be monitored more reliably.
Thanks in advance for any insight or roadmap information you can share.
