BLF Is Still Green for DND

Using the latest version of 3CX with Fanvil desk phones. I have BLF keys programmed for the extensions. BLF keys turn red when an extension is on a call, but stay green if the extension is on DND. Makes it rather difficult for the Receptionist to determine who's available for calls.

Is there a way to make the BLF keys turn red when the extension is DND?

BLF = "Busy" light field. Therefore, on 3CX, they do not turn red for DND (which is presence.)

There's no way to do it either.

Not natively, I would suggest receptionist uses the app.

The BLFs monitor call state only (Idle, Ringing, Busy)

If you want to monitor Status (Available, Away, DND, Lunch, Trip) you need to use the 3CX apps.

This has been a long-standing issue, including with our own clients. However, in every case we have found that once a receptionist starts using the 3CX apps they quickly find they prefer it to a deskphone. Quick access to presence, chat, voicemails etc - it's cheaper to give them an additional small monitor to exclusively display the web or Windows client, than it is to buy a deskphone with lots of BLF buttons.

That maybe so, but by far the majority of users on this forum and my customers would like to have the ability for BLF to show DND status on both the phone and expansion modules. Please consider this, thank you.

As has been stated "Busy Lamp Field" Is to provide others the extension is Busy or Available.
Remember this is Terminology and Technology from a time when loop disconnect dialing and 0 = 10 pulses.
Status was not something a user was able to set, any gatekeeping was done by an assistant.

Can we get further clarification on why exactly this does not work with 3CX?

In the video below, the user invokes DND on the one phone and the BLF updates to reflect such a status on the other phone, which would suggest that this is in-fact possible.

While I understand presence is part of 3CX software itself, since it appears to be invoking teh DND function on the physical phone, I am having difficulty understanding why this functionality is not functioning similar to how it is in the referenced video.
