Solved "Call failed" when placing calls

Happens when connecting remotely using 3cx phone for windows. Pretty much tried everything, including reinstalling 3cx, changing audio settings, disabling firewall, etc.

What could be the issue?

edit: just found a resolution. New windows update, need to enable microphone access in privacy settings.
