Call recording one external incoming number

Hi,

For training purposes, is it possible to call record one external number that rings in only? I know you can record all calls coming into the primary SIP trunk number, but this is for a number that rings in.

Our 3CX is in-house hosted on a server.

Do you mean you want to record an incoming call while the call is ringing and before it is answered?
If this is the case, then this is not possible.

I think @lyje1 is wanting to record any inbound calls coming from a specific phone number? Is that correct? If so, it would require a custom service that monitors all inbound calls for a call coming from the specified number, AND use an API to start the recording process. It is possible to do, and we can help.

The call recording is on the extension level and the PBX will start recording once the call is established.

This is correct. Basically there is one client we would like to record their calls coming in for training purposes, but we don't need call recording for all incoming calls.

So, you will need a service that monitors inbound calls. If the caller ID matches the number(s) in the list, then we can invoke the 3CX API to turn on recording.
