Hi, I have currently set up the free version of the 3CX phone system. I use the 3CX soft phone and it work very well.
I want to call form a extension to a iptel account phone, example [email protected] account.
Do I need to set up a trunk and a route on the 3CX phone system? Could anybody be so kind and send me a short instructive how to do it? I suppose that for a call to a @iptel.org account I don't need any physical trunk equipment, am I wrong?

I thank you in advance,
Alfredo

A lot depend on whether iptel requires that you have an account with them. You will probably need to create a new trunk to iptel then you may need to register, which requires a user name and password, or you may not have to.

You would then create an outbound rule to route dialled numbers out on that trunk group.

How you set that up depends on whether users have a fixed length number, or, use an alphanumeric name, as you seem to indicate.

You should probably download and have a read through the 3CX manual.
