Hi,

have anyone use 3cx pbx for a hotel? if so how is the configuration like? We have hotel employees with phone that work for the hotel and guest room with extension. Do we say setup guest room to be like in the 2xx extension and 1xx to be the employee extension? is that how you would set this up ? or should we just set this up with one 1xx extension?
Also about routing. We do not allow incoming call directly go to any guest room extension unless a employee transfer them. Is this possible.

thank you

You could use a computer inhouse with 2 NICs (or hosted with 2 x SBC) to seperate staff/guests - This would be better for network manager too if the staff and guest network are seperate.

Depending on how big you are you may want to use 4 digit extensions to allow for better management such as 1 first floor room 101 would be 1101 etc.

Block ext to ext calls for guests

3CX Management Console - Extensions , edit your extension, Forwarding Rules. At the bottom of the screen you will see 'Exceptions'
Enter the extensions you want to block in 'Calls from Caller ID'. I believe you can enter a block of extensions by entering 100 - 120 or you can enter 100, 102, 110 which will block ext 100 & 102 & 110
Forward to select 'end call'

Fanvil have a range of hotel phones supported by 3CX.

Unless you have requested DIDs (for the rooms), from your provider, and set up DID rules, or allow outside callers to access an IVR, they will not be able to dial a room directly from the outside. You simply route all incoming calls to a receptionist who can then transfer the call as required.

Yes, we use 3CX with Hotels.
We typically do as you described - staff as 1xx and guests as 2xx (where xx = room number)

This allows staff to call a guest room, guest to call staff if needed, or guests to call other guest rooms.

No incoming calls go direct to guest unless you setup a DID to do so in the 3CX MC.
