3cx v9.15781 fully up-to-date. SPA 3102 with one SPA 525G phone. Optimum Voice as the phone provider. Analog line from cable modem into SPA3102, ethernet out with PoE to SPA525G. One extension, 10, to the phone. Several softphone extensions.

This service has call waiting and I should be able to forward a call to another external line; I should also be able to put a call on hold and answer a second call coming in via call waiting. Being in a call, there is no way for me to answer when another comes in. Further, when in a call, I cannot forward to an external number. I get the following error messages.
Code:

Ideas?

From what I recall...and I may be wrong, you can only do a flash to the PSTN (FXO) from a set plugged into the FXS jack, when making a call directly out on the FXO. I don't think you will be able to do it from a 3CX extension. In the majority of installations, 3CX would be working in a business environment with business trunks, PSTN or VoIP. While residential lines have services that require a flash, the majority of business trunks don't. The flash stays within, and operates features within, the PBX.

Thank you for the reply. Can't the 3cx send a call wait flash signal to the 3102? I'd hate to think that every soho install only has one line and no ability to have another call answered (that renders my 3cx voicemail useless and makes me rely still on cable company voip vm)...

Most businesses, that were large enough to make use of a PBX, would not use phone lines that have call waiting or voicemail. They would use multiple individual lines, or, a hunt group with a pilot number, for incoming, and perhaps separate trunks for outgoing. Trying to incorporate a PBX into a residential environment or extremely small business (single line?) is questionable if you wish to continue to use telephone company provided residential features. You might want to consider moving to two (or more, or adding) VoIP phone lines, at perhaps a lower cost than the single PSTN line you currently use. Having access to more than one line (or VoIP long distance services) can make the use of a PBX justified.

Fair enough. I've seen on the board that it can be done, optimal or not. Anyone know how to do it?
