Hi,

I am trying to set up HT802 for an analog phone for the last two days. I cannot figure out what is going on.

This is what it says in the log/Activity - “; Reason: Credentials don't match, check that authorization-ID and password match the ones in extension settings”

Then, when I head over to the Dashboard, it shows this: “SIP request (REGISTER) from 64.4.126.118 was rejected. Reason: Block WAN requests is ON. Message: REGISTER sip:gospelheritage.3cx.us SIP/2.0 Via: SIP/2.0/UDP 172.16.161.22:5060;branch=z9hG4bK1198685279;rport=46472;received=64.4.126.118 Max-Forwards: 70 Contact: <sip:[email protected]:5060>;reg…”

Not sure what all this is, but the HT802 won’t work. The provisioning doesn’t work if it is manual or automatic.

What do I do? I don’t understand the “credentials don’t match” either, because the extension I set for FAX/DECT to use with the HT802 doesn’t give me an option for Authorization - ID.

Thanks for your help!

Joel.

You are trying to register via STUN on an extension that STUN is blocked.

Go to the Extension -> Options, and uncheck "Block request from WAN (Direct SIP/STUN)".

If this is a fax extension, you cannot disable it.

Please note that these devices are only supported if local (meaning, no SBC or STUN) but I know some people made it work.

Thank you so much for your help! I did this. Now the provisioning is completed. However, the extension shows that it is still not registered. So, when I call from HT 802 extension to another extension, it rings, but the extension dialed doesn't ring. Then when I try to call back the HT 802 extension from another phone/extension, it goes straight to the voice mail.

Any help with this?

Did you upgrade the HT802 to the latest firmware and provisioned it using the 3CX FXS/DECT section? Once configured for the first time, simply delete it from 3CX Console (the device will keep its last config) then just change the HT8xx SIP Server to use the FQDN instead of the private IP. Don't forget "NAT Traversal: STUN" when setting this.

Another way is to use an SBC.

You must achieve phone registration first before making any attempt of calls.Check:

  • The devices IP address is not blacklisted on the firewall.
  • You have the correct ports open on the firewall in front of 3CX for STUN (SIP 5060 for registering plus RTP for audio 9000-10999).

I have setup these devices in STUN mode myself so they should be fine for just standard analogue handsets.

Thank you! I will try this!
