Greetings. We have a functioning 3CX system in our client local virtual environment. Our new SIP provider needs to install a session border controller into their network on premise to deliver their SIP service. Does the Century Link SBC need to reside in the same local IP address range as the 3CX is currently? Or can network adjustments be made to accommodate it being in a different IP address scheme onsite?

Thank you

Both scenarios can be used. This would be dependent on the providers requirements.

If you need to put it on a separate interface, then that interface should NOT have a default gateway defined, but it should have a static (persistent) route to the destination network instead.

If the SBC will be installed in your existing network, the PBX server should have a static route to the destination network going through the IP of the SBC.
