Solved Change Auth ID

Hi,
i want to report to you guys that if i change the auth id of my extension with the same extension number, after a random time 3CX restore the default value.
For example, if i've an extension with number 217 and i create a generic phone, the default Auth ID is something like "Ah28e1!83".
If i change the auth id string with "217" and i register the phone (and it works), maybe the next day the phone doesn't work because 3CX restore the old value "Ah28e1!83".

I don't know if it's normal, but if i cannot change the auth id, 3cx should disable the edit of this field.

Are you resetting the user by any chance?

This will change all the passwords and the Auth ID.

If you need to reset a user's password due to them forgetting it, just have them click the "Forgot Password" themselves through the login page. This will only reset the web login password.

On a properly provisioned phone, this shouldnt be an issue as they will always go back to the PBX to pickup the proper password from the provisioning link.

This is especially prevalent on generic phones.

Yes, i just took a test and you are right. I thought the reset button only changed the web login password.
