Hi all,

We have old Polycom phones (VVX411 and IP335) and it displays the caller information as Last and First names and we want to change it to First and Last names. I've already edited the Options under Contacts to show First and Last names but the phones still displays the incorrect format. This leads me to think it may be a phone config rather than a 3CX config as I can't find any other references to name formatting except under Contacts.

Any suggestions appreciated.

When you say caller information are you talking internal to internal or external calls to internal? And do you have other phones that display first/last?

Internal to internal only (i.e. local extensions). All phones display Last + First name currently.

By all phones do you mean you only have Polycom phones? Can you try the app/soft phone/webclient?

In any case, it is going to depend on where the name information is taken. If it from a source that is two separate fields, first name, and last name, then perhaps it can be changed. If it taken from a single field, where the name is input as "last name, first name", then no, The extension number may also be matching an entry in the phones directory, ignoring any name that being sent.

The app shows First + Last name. Desk phone shows Last + First name still.

Hi @my3cxRC,

Have you updated the configuration via Menu >> Basic >> Update configuration after making the change on the 3CX Management Console? The phones update once during the daily reprovisioning cycle, so may need you to update them.
