Dear!

We are currently managing 3CX v14 installations for several of our clients. We need to modify the SIP registration expiration parameter, which is currently set to the default value of 1800 seconds. However, we have been unable to find the specific setting within the management console.

Does anyone know how to adjust the registration expiration in v14? Or are there some workarounds if it's not directly possible in this version?

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,

Unfortunately, I do not know the answer to your posted question.

However, I do want to caution you about the risks you are exposing yourself to when running such an old version of 3CX. If anything happens to one of your 3CX servers where you need to recover your phone system, you will not be able to activate the license key.

You could argue "I will deal with that if the situation arises" but you do not want to be rebuilding a 3CX server from scratch on a Monday morning because something happened to 3CX over the weekend. You are at significant risk of a prolonged outage. I have long advocated letting the person dictate the upgrade schedule, rather than have fate dictate when an update is performed.

I know it is tempting to stay on an old version of 3CX for cost savings reasons, but you are not getting all the latest security updates and are venerable, and you cannot get support from 3CX.

This is a very very old PBX version. Also this version is not even able to be restored to latest V18 or V20.

@s3nk, our Customer Service Team will be happy to assist your customers with the process of updating their systems to the latest version of 3CX.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, I am aware that this version is quite outdated; however, some of our clients still use it. We are actively encouraging them to make an upgrade, but this is the current situation. This issue affects only a small subset of our clients, as most have transitioned to newer versions.

Could you let me know if this feature is available in the newer versions? Knowing this could help us to convince them to upgrade.

Thank you!

Yes this is an option in the Sip Trunk configuration.

@TheodorosG_3CX, the systems are using only local SIP extensions, not a SIP Trunk. I have a local v18 installation that I could test this on if possible. I'd like to modify the "expires=1800" parameter, as shown in the attached picture.

Thank you for your help!

Are you referring to the registration expire of the extension?

Yes, exactly this. Where can I find this setting?

Thank you!

I found it, you must add the custom parameter MAXEXPIRATION.

I just need to clarify here that any modification to the 3CX Parameters is not supported.

I'm afraid not for the extension.
You can try but we will not be able to provide support.
