Greetings,

I recently purchased 9 Cisco 7940G IP Phone. But I can't configure them to 3cx.

I currently have a Cisco 3560 Switch powering them up. What should I do? Should I buy a Cisco router to have them configure via TFTP Server? If so, what are the recommended product?

Thanks,

Hello @jrivera98

Please find the guide on how to provision these phones below.
https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/cisco-7940g-7960g/

Let us know if you have any questions regarding the procedure.

Thanks for replying. In fact, I did figure it out, but now I have a problem.

The issue is that the CISCO 7940G is showing a message "HTTP connection closed." What does that mean?
Also, on 3cx Phone System Managment Console it has a "SIP Server/Call Manage
ID: 12291" error.
is there a way to fix this?

I have attached the message below.

Are the phones connecting locally to the server or remotely? Also the error would suggest that the credentials used to provision the phone do not match the one set in the management console.

Thanks for the reply @YiannisH_3CX . The Cisco 7940G are connected remotely via Google's Cloud system. The CISCO 7940G are connected to Cisco 3560 switch and the switch is connected to AT&T U-verse.

I double check the credentials and there are the same as the 3cx online console. The phones are displaying all of the information such as the name of the extension, the number of extension and and the URL of the 3cx (i.e. companyname.3cx.west.us) But when I try to call another extension it display this message " Reorder" with this busy signal.

Please note that these phones can be used as local devices as mentioned in the guide so you may experience various issues when using these phones as remote devices. I would recommend using a supported device for this scenario to avoid additional issues in the future
