Hi,
when an operator as its line busy and and and all the other phones start ringing for a second call, the operator phone does not start ringing. It is very annoing for us. 3CX should immediately "sense" the internal is now free and route the ring to it too. Is there a way to solve the situation ?

Hello @JChill
Are the extension members of a ring group or a queue?

If a member of a ring group is engaged ,when the incoming call first comes in, it will not ring that extension once it goes on-hook. There is not second, or on-going check for the status of the members. You could add a second appearance of that extension, or another extension, that is part of the ring group, to each set.

Hi,
why such complication, it seem so unlogical. Is there any limitation in the sip protocol ?

If we move to queue based setup, would be this solved ? (But probably we could lose the ring delay feature I have written in another message)

Depends on how many agents you plan on having. With queues, a call will remain in the queue (listening to music) until an agent is available. So, if an extension is the only agent in the queue, then , yes, when they hang up, they will then receive the next call. But, if another agent is already idle, the call will have gone to them.

In call queus the queue manager will poll the extension that just hang up. Ring groups are basically using SIP forking. Once the invite is sent it does not re-send the invite.

I admit that in a range 1 to 10 this kind of working annoys us at 10. Every analog PBX we had let the phone ring as soon as it has been closed. If you ask us what we miss most from our previous PBXes: this feature !

Our clients are often irritated with this when first getting familiar with the new setup. Once we instruct them to press a blinking BLF of another phone that's a member of the same ring group they're usually OK with it.
