Conference Bridge to not use g.729

Is there a way to have the conference bridge use g711. I'm getting complaints that the voice quality on conference bridge is lousy. I noticed the external trunk leg on conference bridge calls go out g.729 even though trunk should be doing g711! To add to the problem the internal leg is g711 so its trans-coding!

Assuming you are using SIP, then go to the provider page and then advanced and remove G729 from the assigned codecs.

Is there a reason to use g729 on the network? You might try restricting a couple of sets to use only g711 codecs, then try a conference bridge call. You might also check to see what order (preferred codec), the sets have been set-up to use.

Nope, no reason for 729 that I can think of. Removed it from the SIP trunk, problem solved.
