Contact Search from Snom D785

Is it possible to make a Contact search by name to use "Starts with" versus "Contains". currently when you are searching for "Adam" you type an "a" and every name that contains an "a" comes up, not just the ones that start with "a"? This is happening on multiple vendor phones.

Hi,

This really comes down to what each individual phone vendor chooses to implement.

Some might indeed allow some flexibility, but you would have to look up their documentation to find out.

Do keep in mind that there are rather simple devices with low power embedded processors, so they don't tend to have such a fine level of customizability.

This "feature" changed with V16 3CX. Before V16 all phones would search using "Begins With", and after upgrading to 16 it changed to "Contains" and continues in V18.
Is there a way to change it back?

You probably noticed that coincidentally, as new firmware was released during the V16 lifetime.

I see here that at some point Snom added something called Quick Lookup around version 10.1.33.33

Read their instructions on how to disable it, and see if this restores the old functionality that you prefer.

You can also change Quick Lookup Start Length to 1, and this might make it behave more like before.

Beyond this, I would say to contact Snom directly with any questions on their feature as it is not something we really control from a 3CX perspective
