create a new instance from light sail snapshot, v18

Hello,
what is the procedure of creating a new instance from a lightsail snapshot. Can I login to the new instance via new iP and restore the backup there? Will the FDQN and new IP get updated this way?

If I am understanding correctly you did a snapshot of an existing VM with 3CX running on it, and then deployed the snapshot on a new VM? I believe you have a ticket regarding this, support should be able to provide more specific guidance.

Generally:
If using 3CX FQDNs the snapshot should contain everything and no restore would be needed. FQDN/IP would resolve themselves after some time, as long as the original VM was shut down. In the meantime you should be able to login via the new VMs IP.

Thank you for the response. I have not received a conclusive response yet from support. Do I have to update the IP address in the network setting of the V18, is this required for the FDQN to point to the correct IP?
I tried doing the new VM and shut down the old one yesterday, but when I log into the new vm it was saying server error. How long does it take the FDQN to update typically?
