Hi,

Hoping someone can tell me if I am doing something wrong here! I want to replace a number of the audio prompts with my own, to match other customer recordings we have.

I have followed the following steps...

1 Navigate to Settings -> System Prompts
2 Manage Prompt Sets, Copy prompt set to "custom prompt set" and then set "custom prompt set" as active prompt set.
3. Search for "Please Hold". (Prompt ID "PLSHOLD" is what I am trying to change.
4. Click on prompt to highlight it, then click browse.
5. Select the file I want to replace it with (which is the correct file format) and then click ok.

At this point - nothing happens. I expected the file name would update with the file name of my custom file.

So - what am I missing?

Thanks,

Leon

Hello @leonp

The file name is maintained in the prompt set. it is just replaced, so you won't see any changes. Restart the PBX services and see if it worked. Just make sure to select the copied prompt set to the IVR/Queue that you want.

The filename stays the same, it is renamed if you upload a different file name

You can check it, by clicking on Download or Play on Phone

Thanks guys - this isn't intuitive at all!

It would be nice to see a message to say the file has been uploaded and a prompt to restart services.

While I'm at it - a button to restart all services as well :)

i'm pretty sure you can select all services by clicking on each one (yeah, one at a time) and then clicking on restart.

I think in a previus version I activated this option, to play this file PLSHOLD; but now I cant find where to turn it off... anybody?

Hi @Juan Marriott

You cannot disable it exactly, but you can replace that prompt with a new empty/silent one so it is not audible by the caller.
In order to do this, you will need to create a new prompt set and replace the specific prompt as per following instructions:
  • Go to Settings >> System Prompts and click on Manage Prompt Set.
  • Then select your current prompt set and click on Copy Prompt Set.
  • Give a name to the new prompt set and click OK.
  • Select the new prompt set as "Active Prompt Set" and again Click OK.
  • Still on System Prompts Settings, in the search bar, search for PLSHOLD. This is the specific prompt that you want to change.
  • Click on "Record By Phone" to record a new message(silence) or browse for a new audio file. An empty audio file can be found in /var/lib/3cxpbx/Instance1/Data/Ivr/Prompts or C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Ivr\Prompts in case of windows installation
  • Restart services for changes to take effect.
  • Now On Queue Settings or Digital Receptionist settings >> General Tab select the new prompt you have created under "Queue Language" or "Digital Receptionist Language"
