After seeing this post regarding the v 18 alpha 4 and debian 10 upgrade most of the installs we manage show it available.
However, the system in our office doesn't. When I SSH into the physical box it claims it is running Debian 10 already. I originally installed using the 3CX iso on a physical computer and have automatic updates enabled.
Could the automatic updates have upgraded it to Debian 10? If so why didn't my other instances do the same?
Having "Automatic Updates" enabled will not trigger this upgrade no. It even has a separate button for manual upgrade so, someone might have either upgraded it manually via 3CX or via the OS.
As discussed via PM, ending up with a Debian 10 (Buster) and 3CX v16 may have been due to using our tech demo for 3CX v16 Update 6 which was released back in July 2020 and involved an ISO file with Debian 10 and 3CX v16 U6.
In any case, since using Debian 10 with 3CX v16 was never officially supported and recommended for production environments, we recommend either waiting for v18 to be released and use the 3CX ISO to redeploy the machine, or, better yet, use the currently available 3CX ISO which includes Debian 9 and 3CX v16 Update 8 to redeploy the machine. In both cases you can use a backup from your current setup and restore it during installation.
Note: Do bear in mind that the current state of the 3CX Instance (Debian 10 + 3CX V16) is not considered a supported configuration.
I took a backup and shut the physical PC I was running off to re-install as VM. After the re-install and restore I now see the option like the other instances we manage.
Thanks for the help. I probably used the tech demo iso like you mentioned back in September and didn't realize it.
