Is it possible to totallly disable call recording? We do not want employees to record any calls.

Hi,

You can only disable it per extension there is now way to disable it system wide at this time you may post a feature request in the feature request section of the forums.

How do you disable call recording by user? I only see an option to record all calls.

Hi,

Recording for all users is disabled by default.
- If you tick the option to record all calls, it will record all calls for that extension.
- If you leave it unticked, it will not record anything.

Normal users cannot enable recording for their extensions. Only the Administrator should have access to the 3CX PBX, this means that only the administrator can enable recording for each extension.

The recording feature it's self will never be removed as it's a vital part of the PBX that many users require.

Thanks for the replies. It looks like users can record with the 3CXPhone and there does not appear to be a central way to disable that.

They can do it using any type of sound recorder. it is possible even if you don't use 3CX Phone and don't use 3CX Phone System.
Do you need to disable recording at all (it is not possible) or you need to disable recording made by 3CX PhoneSystem(3cxPhone)?

Thanks

The HR group has asked in the past if the phone system can record calls and we have been able to say no. There are legal requirements for notification of recording in some states and additional internal requirements (if I wanted to record a call I would have to go through HR). As you say a person could always make a recording with a sound recorder but being able to turn off the ability of the phone system to make the recording gets IT out of the loop and makes it a lot harder for a user to do.

IT Support,

Phone system may provide you ability to record call in case if you want it.
Unfortunatelly, it CANNOT prohibit recording because it is already available in ANY cheap MP3 player and ANY cheap mobile phone... How to make recording "a lot harder"? If you have any suggestion please post the feature request on the "Feature requests" forum.

Thanks

I will give it some thought. Thanks very much for taking the time to reply - not many companies will do that.
