Good morning all.

Occasionally, I have a need to move a phone from one user to another, or to factory reset a phone - especially on my "demo" system. On these occasions, the phones never show up again in 3CX > Phones to be assigned an extension - I must create the extension and get the provisioning link, then find the phone on the network, login to the phone, and paste the provisioning link into the appropriate place in the phone GUI. This works just fine, but it would be nice to avoid the several extra steps, if possible...

Is this due to the system "remembering" the phones somehow, rendering that particular MAC address to not be automatically discover-able on the network? Is there something I can do to have the ability to automatically find those phones again without needing to manually use the provisioning link?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Have you checked the Blacklist. It could be that the IP addresses have been blacklisted.

I have. They are not.

Hello @tech10

Please note that every time you factory reset a phone, the phone will send a PnP request if the phone was successfully reset. If there is a PnP request and PBX is able join the multicast group then phones should show up as new under the Phones tab as the PBX does not keep track of the phones. Were the phones provisioned using STUN? If so then they might get provisioning details through RPS. You can also check a few settings using the guide:
https://www.3cx.com/docs/plug-and-play-ip-phone/

No, these are phones configured via the Phones tab. I will check those settings next time I have the issue, but if the PBX does not remember, then the same phone should show up as new (just as it was when configured the first time) after a factory reset, should it not?

If the phone is sending a PnP request and the PBX receives it, it will show the phone as new after a factory reset.
