We are using a 3CX hosted PBX with Skyetel SIP trunks. Is it possible to have the outbound Caller ID display both company name and number? I can get either to display on outbound calls but not both.

Normally, the CID Number would be sent from the PBX. Then, on the provider side, the CNAM should be set depending on the CID presented.

Not sure how @Skyetel works but that should be the way.

Normally, the receiver would get both. Are you certain that the name or number is originating from the PBX, are you able to change either and see that change at the called number?

Sending a number is pretty much a given. However sending just any number would depend on your provider allowing it. Sending a name, would also depend on your provider allowing that. Many don't honour the name you send, but will add a name based on the number you send (as mentioned above). However, if you have discovered that you are able to send different names, then it may just be a matter of changing the outbound trunk parameters so that both the name and number are sent in the correct fields, to satisfy your provider.

I can change it back and forth in the PBX. For example, if I change the Outbound Parameter From: Display Name to Custom field: CompanyName and From:User Part:"Line Number" external number of line, then the external number is displayed. If I remove the user: part, it will send the display name to desk phones and Android mobile phones but not the external number. IPhone users receive "Unknown". I've checked our Skyetel parameters and CNAM is set to the Company Name. I can't seem to get both name and number to be presented to the caller.

Have you confirmed whether or not you are actually sending a name, or if it is being added by Skyetel based on the number you send? If it is latter, then you just need to concentrate on sending the number (in the correct field), then ask you provider why they are not adding the name...what do they see as "incorrect"?

If you have been modifying the template for the provider, have you tried starting all over again with the default?

Our company has decided that we only need to send the phone number as Caller ID. I can make this happen. I thank all of you for your responses.
