I'm looking for a way to display one or more DID's that route to each extension.
Our DID aren't stable allocated, when collegues leave and/or join those DID's get swapped around. After each swap we have cases where external contacts need to update their contact number and to help them we need to have simple user access to our "Inbound rules", preferable a view into the single source of truth itself. The alternative would be to maintain a seperate list of all number allocations but I dislike duplicating information and is internally discouraged. Calling into the underlying database is not supported, so it's unclear how much maintenance work this approach would require.

At this moment we manually make sure that "Outbound Caller ID" matches one "Inbound Rule", but showing the "Outbound Caller ID" for each extension wouldn't be a correct solution because incoming and outgoing is detached. It would be great if there was an automated way to keep "Inbound Rules" in sync with "Outbound Caller ID", but that's a different topic.

Just to first better understand your requirements. From what you said, I've gathered that you're frequently changing what DIDs route to each extension and would like to have a way to automatically sync each extension's Outbound Caller ID with the DID set to them whenever these changes occur. If this is the case, I'm afraid theres actually no way to automate this and you would have to manually make the changes.

I'm not sure I have understood exactly what you mean here though:

Why would you need users to have access to the Inbound Rules? Is it for them to be able to change the DIDs associated with them by themselves?

Thanks for the swift reply!

The goal is to get the external number of people inside our organization.
Reason being; transparency. At this point inbound and outbound has no coupling leading to people not actually knowing the single/many external number(s) that (if any) directly route to them. An administrator could use other systems for this information (Intranet or AD directory), but I was curious why it isn't a visible property attached to the extension (albeit dynamically calculated from Inbound rules).
See for example the 3CX desktop app > Presence information > extension 1234 > more info; You see name, extension number, e-mailaddress, mobile number etc. but not the external caller id.
The purpose being; transferring external number information to 3rd parties so they update their crm. This happens to new employees, and also reception personnel who deal with all unhandled calls.

I know that "External Caller ID" isn't guaranteed to be a correct, or even routable, number in all cases. Altough we use E164 data everywhere we can.
This boils down to; Is having that information at hand better than no information?

I imagine a situation where I open up the desktop client, click on the presence information tab, open the details of a random internal extension and see all DID's that have a direct route to the selected extension, formatted in E164.
The system management panel already displays this information for each extension, but it's not user accessible.

Forget the part about sync'ing up "External Caller ID" and matching "Inbound Rules". That's a different topic and shouldn't have mentioned it.

As the information you are looking for is indeed not available anywhere else but the Management Console, you would be required to provide users access to it.

Though, rather than providing them with access to the Inbound Rules, I believe it would be best to simply provide them access only to manage their own extension. That way, they'll be able to see only the DIDs that are associated with them. This can be done from within "Extensions >> Edit >> Rights", enable "Allow access to 3CX Management Console" and then select "Manage own Extensions".

They should then be able to log into the Management Console, click on their extension and see the DIDs that route directly to their extension under General >> Direct Inbound Dialing (DID).

We may have a custom solution that would work for you. This week we are releasing a new tool for Custom Presence Status.

We could add an additional column that displays their mobile number, DID, etc.

Thanks for the pointer.
The request is about viewing others DID's as well.

That looks promising, I'll contact you by e-mail (e-powerinternational.com domain)

Well in that case it is indeed be the "Inbound Rules" section they would need access to.
