Solved Display the inbound rule but not the call queue

Hello,

When calls come in to our busines, I would like the LCD screens on deskphones to display INBOUND RULE : CALLERS NUMBER.

By default, what I see is CALLERS NUMBER : INBOUND RULE NAME : NAME OF CALL QUEUE ROUTED TO.

After searching the forum, I found a suggestion to go to Advanced -> Contacts -> Options and under the section Add Group, Queue or DID/DDI Names to Caller ID, change it from "Append Name" to "Do not Add".

But when I do this, my screens now only displays: CALLERS NUMBER.

Can anyone point me in the direction of the relevant part of the documentation, or even if possible exactly how to achieve my desired result of disaplying INBOUND RULE : CALLERS NUMBER?

Hi - thanks for your suggestion. I had not tried that so I just enabled it to see what would happen. Now the screen disaplys:

NAME OF CALL QUEUE : INBOUND RULE : CALLERS NUMBER

So it's better - putting the callers number at the end, but still not correct as it is still adding the name of the call queue. I just want the inbound rule name and the caller's number - if that is possible.

If the call goes through a Ring Group or Call Queue, then the name of that Ring Group or Call Queue will get appended or prepended to the Caller ID and there is no way around it apart from not adding it at all which will get rid of the Inbound Rule name as well.

If you do not care so much about the Call Queue name, I guess you could rename the Call Queue to a single character or something like that.

Ah ok now I understand - thank you. Yes I don't care about the name of the call queue - and I only have one queue for the whole company.

I've renamed the call queue to * and now it looks almost exactly how I wanted.
