I can't seem to make video work on calls to a video door phone with H.264. When enabled, the video will hang with no picture. Is video call being developed for public release?
I see this post https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/android-upcoming-beta.68607/ :
"Temporary enabling video I repeat - TEMPORARY for beta to gain experience because this market happens to be wild. Will switch off before production release."
Not sure what to make of this. It was my understanding video call feature would be included in the app.

Hi,

Sorry, no official video support for now, just testing.

Once you make a call from client to client (android phones) and then answer the call to establish it, you can press video. But this is not guaranteed to work.

Feel free to give your scenario and feedback though

@JohnS_3CX we have a video door phone connected to the PBX. When someone rings from that extension we need to see the video feed (works on H.264) to give that person access to the building. Right now we have to use third party apps such as Zoiper to be able to do this. Ideally we would be able to take the video call in the 3CX app. From the looks of this thread: https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/3cx-mobile-softphone-to-support-video.41918/ I am not the only one needing this type of solution ;)

Hi,

H.264 is not coming to the app as far as I'm aware so that will not be a possibility.

The video is running on VP8.

Why? H.264 is supported across a wild variety of devices, specially videophones. It could allow cross-platform videocalling like others do with their apps.
