I have set up a Fanvil i20S doorphone.
The desired operation is that when a visitor presses the button,
a Ring Group is alerted - and one of the Ring Group members answers and permits the visitor to come in.
Quite a basic request - and not unusual...
BUT
In order to get the doorphone to ring a destination when the button is pressed, one must program BLF1 to a Speed Dial location.
HOWEVER
A Speed Dial Location CANNOT be a Ring Group.
If one goes into the Fanvil Doorphone's GUI, you can set the destination to be a Ring Group extension number.
HOWEVER
The Auto Update function of 3CX overwrites this entry - thus disables this function.
So - one then can disable Auto Update.
HOWEVER
In the current firmware release for the Fanvil doorphones you CANNOT do this, as shows an error to "Please input server address"
when you go to System -> Auto Provision -> Static Provisioning Server -> Update Mode -> Then select "Disable"
So - no way to disable Auto Update
I am now back to a doorphone for a customer that can ONLY ring a single phone.
The customer now does not want the 3CX system...
They want to keep their legacy Samsung OfficeServ system that did this with no problem.
I keep running into annoyances like this with 3CX.
We don't sell enough of 3CX to have support ticket credits which have to be bought to bring about issues like this that need to be fixed.
Our General Manager wants to know why we are selling a product that we have to pay,
to get basic functionality to work.
I am sorry to leave this here, but I have nowhere to turn to with this situation.
