Hello,

My goal here is to configure a dual fax setup using a Grandstream HT802 (the one with two phone line ports on the back). The way I'm hoping or wanting this to work is by having the two phone lines connected to two different printers (fax machines) nearby. The way I've done this, so far, is by setting up two different fax extensions with two different DID's in our phone system. Right now, one of these DID's is being forwarded to our main fax number through Verizon.. The main fax number used to be over a copper line, but we are getting rid of this old infrastructure and strictly going with ATA's for faxing purposes, and this main fax number has not been ported over yet from Verizon to our internet provider.. Right now, if someone sends a fax to the main fax number, it is being forwarded to the temporary DID in our 3CX system so that the fax gets delivered. The way they want the main fax number to work, is they want people to be able to send a fax to the main fax number, and have it setup with two different fax machines in the instance where if one of them is busy, the other one will answer and deliver a fax.. Right now, this is working perfectly with one of the phone lines, going to one of the fax machines, with the main number forwarding to the temporary DID. It also works with the other one as well, using the other temporary DID that I have it setup with, the problem is that I don't want to have office staff just give out these DID's that are setup striclty for fax extensions in our phone system. I want people to be able to just send a fax to one number, and have it delivered on both of these machines using two different DID's..

Here's my question.. I want to forward the main fax number to both of these temporary DID's in 3CX and have it so both of these fax machines can receive faxes when someone sends a fax to the main fax number. Can this be done in the 3CX dashboard with users and groups somehow or do I need to just contact Verizon and ask them to forward our main fax number to both of these other numbers? Is it even possible for Verizon to do this? Is it even possible to set this up in 3CX to work for faxing? I'm seeing the options there for users and phones and ring groups, but I am not able to do this, in any way that I am seeing, in 3CX with fax extensions..

Hi @ITguy2021

Fax extensions in 3CX do not have forwarding rules so you cannot do this in 3CX. You could do this on the provider level if your provider supports this Basically you will need to forward the call to the second DID if the first is busy. But this depends on the provider.
