If you have not noticed, Elastix 2.3 stable ISO appears to have been released a few hours ago.

Sourceforge links are not updated yet but head for this link

http://sourceforge.net/projects/elastix/files/

If you can't see it, then just wait for your mirror to update..

great work

many thanks

I have a 2.2.0 operating as test only with telco provider services enabled so we do functional testing. We have the base server and call center turned on, but not fax and IM. We plan to roll it out to a small call center group in the near future. This seems like a perfect opportunity to do a test of the upgrade process. What would prefered the upgrade path to 2.3 be in consideration I would like it to simulate the upgrade of live server?
Thanks,

Hi,
It is true a stable released is on this link.
However this is a Distro.

I already have an 2.2.0 system up and running and want to upgrade to 2.3.0
What should I do?
yum update is not updating anything :(

Thans for your help

Amigliora,

Yes it is true, the link was for the distro....

Generally it takes a week or so for the standard repositories to be updated, as it requires them to complete/test scripts for upgrading. I expect they will be available sooner as to the best of my knowledge, there are no major structural changes.

If you want to proceed to upgrade to the Elastix 2.3, you can do so by enabling the beta repository via the UPDATES page in Elastix GUI and then perform a yum update at the linux command line. Naturally with this step, I strongly recommend that you have a image backup or as a minimum a Freepbx backup. When you have finished, disable the beta repository (otherwise you will forget).

Naturally if you read this information 3 weeks later, then I do not recommend enabling the Beta repository. The Beta repository is not a single snapshot of the Elastix 2.3 version, it is a constantly changing repository of updates, which can include modifications/updates for Elastix 2.4, and as such may not have certain items tested (e.g. scripts that make minor upgrade changes).

So its a case of beware....make sure you have backups...or wait for them to move the 2.3 beta files to the standard repository.

Regards

Bob

Great Work! Congratulations for you all!
In this distro is included the drivers for KHOMP cards?
Thanks

ivanmf,

From the Elastix pages (http://elastix.org/en/company/news/533- ... tion-guide)

Elastix 2.2+

1. Connect the card/board to the Elastix server
2. yum install kernel-module-khomp --enablerepo=elastix-beta
3. service asterisk stop
4. /etc/rc.d/init.d/khompdrv
5. service kserver start
6. service asterisk start

NOTE: If at any time you want to remove or stop using a Khomp card, be sure to first edit the file: /etc/asterisk/modules.conf by adding the line: "noload => chan_khomp.so" in its [modules] , otherwise the asterisk process will not be able to start properly.

I can confirm that they are not included by default in the 2.3 release from what I can see...

Based on the information above, I suspect that they cannot be included in the standard install, due to the unusual "method" of installation and the fact that if the card is not there, it will fail the Asterisk process. But the above process is relatively painless, and definitely easier than compiling the drive yourself...

Regards

Bob

Cool, great news!
Well done.
But I think for me personally will be better to wait till Elastix officially inform us that this box now supporting FreePBX 2.9.

Cheers,
Maxim

Indeed we are all very happy with this new stable release, but there is a big bug in asterisk (at least for me... and probably anyone who uses cdr(accountcode) with, for example, A2billing) that as been flying around since 2.2 (asterisk 1.8.5->1.8.11) and no one as patched it .... although there is an official patch release, by digium, in the 29th of february....

Please don't get me wrong, i'm not criticizing the great work carried out by the Elastix team... I just get kind of sad and frustrated because I placed a lot of posts about this a2billing/elastix problem (at the time I didn't knew it was buried so deep inside asterisk belly), showed that it had something to do with the part when the dial plan sends things over to a local channel... and no one answered! A problem that didn't existed before and compromised the use of A2billing in a "custom trunk - account code" configuration.

Come on guys a2billing is inside the Elastix pack... it's not something that I, by my own means, tried to put to work and went wrong, it's a feature that used to work in an application that is provided inside the package.

link to the patch -> https://issues.asterisk.org/jira/browse/ASTERISK-19384

Unable to boot from usb - boot error
I have tried both Live USB creator and Unetbootin
What is the checksum ?
Thanks

Team,

What are the fixes, additions and/or upgrades to 2.3 ( other than version number change) that makes it worth the time to up grade?

Like maybe a function to remove the web conferences after they are done or may be a function added to schedule a web conference by future date and time? Not complaining, just wondering.

Also, is there any ideas yet of bugs, problems or other questionable situations with 2.3?

I'm getting ready to install new stable version on test box, just wondering what's exciting to expect.

Thanks

Amphibian

When will it be available the update ? I have 2.2.0 23 and I still don't see any updates !

Finally is out, but when I try to install it I get these errors...
Please help, what should I do to stop having this error?

When I go on sourceforge.net I see "Elastix PBX Appliance Software" above the download link. Is this the distro for general installtion, or is it for Palo Santo's Appliance?

That is the distro.

I have a simple question.
I read on the page "changelog Elastix" (link here) that version 2.3.0.1 has been relesead in May.
As mentionned on the web site, it is a stable version

But when I download the distro (link of the distro), I get previous version: 2.3.0

1/ where can I find the 2.3.0.1 distro ?
2/ Is it possible to upgarde from 2.3.0 to 2.3.0.1 with "yum update elastix" ? I already tried this, and I got a blank page when trying to acces the PBX module

Thank you for your smart replies :)

Pascal

Download 2.2 and execute yum upadte elastix

Thank you for your reply.
I already Upgraded with yum update elastix
But I had to import 2 files because the PBX page was blank:
amportal.conf
manager.conf

bye
