hello guys!
need a help here, we need to interconnect elastix with an existing nortel pbx, nortel can provide me digital line, is it possible that the two pbx can communicate, or analog line from nortel is better? Is this doable? we need elastix to dial nortel extensions, vice versa.

Thank you...

Sir Bob maybe you can give me an advice?

Regards,

To connect the analog switches with elastix use a Linksys SPA2102, Linksys lines of the external lines connecting to the analog plant, which are prorgamadas to answer a central ivr this.

calls can be made both ways.

I hope it works for you. :cheer:

thanks MarcosHP!
but I'm still lost...maybe you can explain it more further, I really need this.
Thank you.

Re: Re:elastix with nortel

Regards,
There are two ways to unite the two plants:

OF CENTRAL CENTRAL TO ANALOG ELASTIX

1. You must have at least one line available in your external analog switches.
2. You have to set an ATA with an extension of Elastix.
3. take the line of ATA and connect to the outside of your central line analog.

And you can make calls according to the configuration of your analogue exchanges :cheer: .

ANALOG OF THE CENTRAL CENTRAL ELASTIX

1. Needs at least one FXO port in the central elastix.
2. Needs at least one of your internal analog switches
3. You must connect the FXO port internal to the elastix Cetral.
4. You create one outgoing route fxo port.
And you can make calls :cheer: .

Rol,

When you say you can get a digital line, are you talking about E1/T1/BRI Trunk from the Nortel??

Generally this is the better way to go as the standards are pretty clear. PSTN connections can vary e.g. hangup methods etc.

Regards

Bob

Yes Sir Bob, it is an E1 trunk.
Maybe you can enlighten me how to do it.
Thanks...

MarcosHp thank you also.

roi,

Have to head out to work, but very quickly, the E1 connection is the best way to do it.

Elastix E1 card will become the Master timing source.

Do you have someone that can program the nortel???

Can you provide more of the relationship of your final setup....

e.g. is elastix the system that will be connected to the carrier and it pass calls to Nortel, or is Nortel the primary unit passing calls to Elastix??

Regards

Bob

Sir Bob Good day!

Our elastix system has 3 gsm gateways, we want Nortel extensions to use our gsm gateways on elastix system, and we want also elastix extensions to reach nortel extensions (vice versa).

One more thing, is it possible to forward incoming calls on Nortel to our elastix system (vice versa)? hope my statement make sense.

Thank you.

Roi,

Not being a Nortel person, you need to do some followup with any comments I make regarding the Nortel system.

As it has a standard E1 trunk, it is possible to join to the Elastix system....

What you have asked is possible, and been done with other systems.

On the Nortel any call to mobile you will force out via the E1 trunk to Elastix. Elastix, providing you have the routes on there will send it out via the GSM

Basically all of the things you have mentioned are possible.....

The main question unanswered is whether you have someone that can program the Nortel?? This is the critical part....

Regards

Bob

Sir Bob...Good Day!

This is what we've tried so far. We took one nortel extension(local extension) plug it to konexx digital to analog converter, then analog port of the converter to an fxo device which is registered to elastix, the issue was (during testing if you have a dial tone or not) when you connect an analog phone on the converter you wont get a dial tone until you press the # key. So now I am looking for a way how to pass # key to fxo device to use it as the trunk for nortel extensions to reach elastix extensions.

hope my statement make sense.

Thank you.
