We have a deployment for a client and due to staff generally WFH a number of people are intentionally not opening or signing out of their 3CX soft phones and as a result not getting calls. The excuses are coming through that oh I didn't realise I had to have the app open or I didn't realise I logged out.

What I'm wanting to see is if there is a way to notify users by email that they have signed out of their extension, ideally only to happen during office hours. This way they have no excuse to not know they were signed out. Its a wider HR issue, but we are wanting to see if there was a way to remove the excuse of I did not realise.

A CFA could be handle this stuff.

Thanks, I guess nothing out the box then. I'll have a look into that and see what I can put together.

You can see this in real-time from the web client, right? How real-time does this need to be?

Thats not the problem, he wants the user informed by mail when thy forgot to login/logout.

As you noted, there is not a built-in capability for this, but it is certainly possible to create something. In my case, when I change my presence, 3CX automatically logs me in/out of all of my queues. So, perhaps simply monitoring the user's presence would be sufficient? I assume people may have different starting work times? Do you want to monitor their status at certain times of the day (starting times, break times, lunch times)? This could be done with a Call Flow Designer, but that approach has some disadvantages ( you have to remember to call the CFD after restarting 3CX). A service (Windows or Daemon) would be an option too.

The problem we have is that staff members are not logging into their softphones, but not necessarily intentional sometimes they might quit Chrome which will then kill the web app and they don't realise that has happened.

What we were after was just an email notification to say you have signed out of your softphone and ideally only for that to be received during office hours as defined by the phone system.

For the time being I might just setup everyone in the BLF buttons and then they can designate some one to shout at people over slack to sign in if they are not signed in.

Why not use the Desktop App?

Could do, but all advice has been pushing towards using the web app moving forward and considering the nature of the last compromise we would like to follow that guidance.
