Hi.

We had v4939 up and running. Uninstalled it and tried to install v644 and always running into an error even when trying to install an older version. Here is the message from the eventlog:

---
Product: 3CX Phone System -- Error 1720. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Custom action AddPostgresUser.vbs script error -2147024769, : Line 156, Column 5,
---

Anyone has an idea how to fix this? Running an Server 2003 R2 SP1.

Thanks in advance and kind regards, :-)
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

1) The latest build of the PBX is 6.0.806, and this is the build which should be installed.

2) This error originates from the Microsoft Installer (MSI). Please make sure you have the latest build of MSI installed (3.1 V2) which may be found at: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=889482FC-5F56-4A38-B838-DE776FD4138C&displaylang=en

Thanks,

Thanks for your reply. :-)

But...trying now the new 3cx build and still getting the same error. The latest MSI build won't let itself install, saying that the Service Pack Version is more recent than the update i am trying to install.
Any ideas left? ;)

Kind regards,
Daniel

Please try the following procedures:

1. Download the latest Windows Script 5.6 from the following link -
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C717D943-7E4B-4622-86EB-95A22B832CAA&displaylang=en
Download and install the "WindowsXP-Windows2000-Script56-KB917344-x86-enu.exe" file and then reboot the machine.

2. Ensure if you have any antivirus software, please disable this during the installation.

3. Check in the Add/Remove programs and see it the 3CX program is listed there. if it is try to uninstall it from this console and reboot the machine. If this fails use the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility found on http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301 to remove this. Reboot after this step.

4. Try the various steps mentioned on the MS kbase How to resolve Common "Windows Installer" Problems
found on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555175/en-us

if these do not work, to get further technical support on this one, you can contact our technical support (This requires commercial edition with support package). If you have a commercial edition, but no support package, you can purchase one here:
