Extension Status Exceptions

Hello,

We have high amount of requests for the following functionality.

We need calls that come from a Manager's extension to still ring an extension regardless of status. When adding an exception so that the manager extension can reach me during all ours by forwarding to my extension number, it creates a forwarding loop... When we try setting it to forward to the users mobile #, the problem is that it always goes to the mobile number and not ring my extension when status is "available" state.

Ideally this is what I want:

Calls from 101 to be able to reach 102 regardless of status:

1. Exception on extension 102 to allow calls from 101 regardless of status
or
2. Exception on 102 to forward a calls from 101 to mobile number, but only if 102 is in a "not available" state/status

Short answer, not currently available. That would defeat the purpose of the status.

While there is a work-around for this if the manager needs to contact just one extension, I don't have a solution where they can contact multiple extensions regardless of status.

With the prior knowledge that it'll only work for 1 extension at a time, what you can do is add that extension to it's very own ring group with no other extensions in there, then change their Away, DND etc status Forwarding Rules and ensure: Accept calls from Ring Groups is ticked.



Forward the calls when away to the Ring Group you made for the extension.
