Hi,

3CX 15.5 and Yealink T27G

I want to set call forwarding on the office phone. I enable it and then type in the external number. It doesn't work. Voicemail answer the message instead though the phone indicate that call forwarding is enabled. What do I miss here?

Thanks in advance.

Check the forwarding options, against the extension, in 3CX.

Well I did check that before. So what should I check?

Thanks for your reply.

How were you doing forwarding? Were you using the forwarding number/options in the extensions settings? What was done at the set? Digits dialled, buttons pressed?

If this is required all the time, setup within 3CX Management console under Extension, Select extension, Forwarding Rules tab

If temp requirement ,you need to setup call forwarding using the 3CX client or 3CX web, and not on the phone.

This is not required all the time but on the fly. Before the user leave the office for instance. So it has to be done in a easy way which means on the phone. Users must be able to enable call forwarding in a 4-5 steps procedure on the Yealink phone... We could do that on a Avaya system where I was working before as well as on a PBX system.

Thanks everyone.

Hello @VDR
Please note that call forwarding on the ip phone is not supported and you should only use the forwarding rules of the extension to forward the calls. This way the user can simply change the status of the extension and trigger a pre-configured forwarding rule

Users cannot be forwarded triggering it from the phone itself? You must be kidding!!!! So how can ALL users do that on the fly?

Thanks

Well I managed to get this working by setting up forward rules and statuses and using Web client application to switch statut from available to away. Is this the only way to do it? If your out of the office already, this means you need Internet access onto your mobile phone to be able to switch statut because you just can't do it while dialing in?!

Thanks everyone for your time and support!

They can also do this from the web client site on a desktop PC or laptop before they leave the office. If they bookmark the page they can just quickly login and switch it there. That's how we do it.

The user can switch status by dialling into the system however there is some configuration required. You need a number that points to a digital receptionist. From there a user can dial 999 (voicemail extension) and connect to voicemail .From the voicemail menu a user can switch the status of the extension

Ok, I'll give a try at this one!

Thank you!

Yes it does work!!!!! Though Forwarding rules must be set up with a mobile phone number or an external number!

Thanks everyone!!!!!

Glad we could assist.
