Failover accross IPSec VPN?

Does anyone know if it is possible to have a Failover pair of 3cx servers in different locations but connected through an IPSec VPN?

Any challenges I should be aware of?

You need to provide additional information. If you are using VPN, do you mean that both servers are connected to the same network using VPN?

If you haven't done so, read over the Failover description carefully and see if there is going to be an issue with what you plan on setting up.

Also what sort of failover are you expecting? Active - Active or Active - Passive?

Are you talking about failover with an enterprise licence or the "old" standard way you could get on a PRO licence?

I'm planing on using the 15.5 Enterprise license for an active-passive configuration. Both servers will be on the same subnet i.e. 192.168.1.1/24 that will be expanded across the VPN. They will also be registering to a online SIP service.

I would think this is going to be tricky if the phones are connecting via the local ip. Unless your plan is to change the IP of the remote one to the same as the main, in a failover event.
Is your IPSec tunnel redudant? Because obviously if the internet goes out you’re going to lose that too.

The phones will be provisioned using dns.
