Hi,

I was testing an Active/Passive failover deployment recently - most of it seemed to work as expected, but I noticed after a failover event the Passive server sets itself to Active, and there isn't an automated way for it to change back to Passive when you fail back to the original Active server.

Upon searching online, I came across https://www.3cx.com/community/threa...r-doesnt-go-back-to-passive.59195/post-248467 :

Once failover is triggered the passive server will become active but once the active is back up you need to manually set the passive server back to passive. There is no mechanism to switch the passive server back to passive mode.

The post is from September 2018, so I'm just checking, is this still applicable for v18 Update 2?

Not an issue if so, I just wasn't expecting it. Maybe I'm overlooking something, but I can't see it mentioned at https://www.3cx.com/docs/failover/ - it seems like an important thing to note.

Thanks,

Ed

I can confirm that this is still the case, you will need to manually set the secondary server back to Passive once you've confirmed the primary one is up and running again.
