Hi all,
He have a problem at a customer with Fanvil H2U phones(v 2.12)). Current 3CX PRO system is running 18.0 (Build 415) but we also replicated it on the latest version of 3CX Enterprise in our lab so it is independent of the version. It happens for internal, inbound or outbound calls. The problem is as follows:
Let's say user A is on H2U and B is on ..whatever .. Yealink. A and B are in a call; when A starts to speaks B gets silence and they cannot understand each other anymore.
So, this is the test we did to replicate the problem: after B (or A ) answers, B starts to talk continuously and A can hear B. As soon as A says something B goes silent and A cannot hear B anymore. B hears everything.
We did a packet capture on H2U and it shows how there is silence as soon as A says something. Remember, B talks continuously.

Steps we took to try and fix this : tried different H2Us, reset default, tried all codecs one by one, upgrade phone firmware, switch between reprovision and manually configure phone by using only username, pass and PBX ip, disable all phone options in web ui that we cna think of, including VAD. Nothing works.

We are looking for advice. We are new with 3CX and maybe we are missing something, though this looks like a phone problem.
Has this ever happen to someone?

Thank you !

Hi Vlad,

What you are describing sounds exactly like a typical echo cancellation function kicking in when it shouldn't.

This behavior is perfectly normal when phones are running in loudspeaker mode, but if you notice it activating during normal handset calls, it will definitely be a problem.

These are not functions that 3CX controls, it comes directly from the way the manufacturer designed the phone. I think you should report this to Fanvil directly.

Hi,

Thank you for replying.
You are right about the echo cancelation . It's like it's Half Duplex.. We did not test loudspeaker because it is irrelevant. Customer is using the handset.
I agree with you, this looks like a manufacturing problem. We will contact Fanvil.

I just thought maybe there was someone else here that had this problem.

Thank you,
Vlad.
