Hi all, i have a very simple home setup which i have been running on a raspberry pi for a while but now I ported it to SMB cloud and I cant get my Fanvil i32v nor my fanvil internal door stations connected to and registered at all... I lost all the previous settings as I was advised to factory reset the devices and now I've managed to blacklist my server on SMB cloud for some reason when I tried to hook up my i32v.
Does anyone know how to set this up? It's officially not supported but I know it works as i had it all working fine off my pi for years.
I have emailed Fanvil and am awaiting a reply, hopefully they can help

thanks

You're probably setting it up as STUN (not supported.) Uncheck this to confirm (wait for blacklist to clear up afterwards, which is 24h.)

Thanks a lot, I will try this. Is it the case that I also need one phone on the network to act as a routerphone with the cloud SMB version or I run a Raspberry with SBC ?

SBC is highly recommended. Makes it easier, more secure and avoids this blacklist issue.

But first, try it in STUN with the checkbox unchecked.

thanks , the blacklist lifted luckily a few mins ago, now i just get "trying" in the Fanvil but doesnt register, no logs in the 3cx console as yet ...odd

Without further analysis or packet capture, it's hard to say what could be the issue. Might be some other settings needed in the Fanvil to work properly on SMB in STUN mode.

Thus why we highly recommend an SBC or router phone.

thanks , my life is never easy it seems!
having repurposed my raspberry 5 as an sbc I now get this error and can't go any further, I have followed instructions as per here: https://www.3cx.com/docs/installing-pbx-raspberry-pi/
and this is the error, attached , would appreciate your thoughts
all data copied exactly from config etc, ports opened up on firewall 5090, 5060, 5061, 443.....
frustrating!

Hi,

It's quite likely that your IP was blacklisted again, that would be the error seen on an SBC with a blacklisted IP.

If you have an alternative IP, try it from there.

Best,
KS

Thanks for help. I ended up installing it all via command line from the 3CX repo, and configuring files the old fashioned way with a text editor :) Got it all working in the end , just the usual codecs compatibility issues now between phones (some of them are technically unsupported but I know they work), it's a case of messing around now ! thanks everyone for help

Hi again all!
More queries, is it the case (as I believe it is) , that custom templates for phones provided by support would only work on locally/self hosted 3cx ? Using the SMB 3cx hosted version there is no means to upload these templates... and I'd have to self host?
its a bummer if so

thanks

Hello,

3CX SMB Free indeed does not support custom templates.

Hosted by 3CX PRO/ENT does permit custom templates, and provides convenient deployment without the need for you to deploy a local server.

Best,
KS.
