Finally decided to start upgrading the firmware on our Fanvil X210 phones from 2.2.11 to 2.2.13

First phone seems to have worked ok. Then I did another 2 and that is where the problem started.

The phone seems to be upgrading and rebooting. Once rebooted, you get the language select screen and all settings are lost. I can re-provision the phones and initially all seems well until you get an upgrading message on the screen followed by a reboot with the language screen coming up and all settings lost.

I tried manually downgrading the firmware and downloaded 2.0.5 from the fanvil website. After provisioning the phone it simply upgraded the firmware again and the problem continues as previously described.

We are on a 3cx hosted solution. Not sure what other details I need to post.

Hi Stephan,

Thanks for reporting this we will check and inform the manufacturer regarding this issue.

Thanks,

Can I be kept in the loop please as we have currently 2 phones that we can no longer use. Thanks

Yes, we will reply back to this thread as soon as we get more information.

For the time being please send a welcome email to the affected extensions, and they should find instructions to use one of our software clients so they can continue to use their extension until this is resolved. We have clients for:

- Android
- iOS
- Windows
- Webclient

Thanks for the suggestion. We don't allow the usage of personal phones in the office due to sensitive data being handled and we also don't have headphones or microphones on the computers.

We will rearrange some bits and will make do with what we have, but would be good to get those 2 phones back to working order asap.

2.2.13 firmware should be pulled, it has issues.

Hi everyone,

The file has temporarily been removed from the updates server until Fanvil investigates the issue.

Thanks for letting us know.
In the meantime, is there a way to get our 2 phones on to an older firmware so we can use them again? As I mentioned in my original post, when I downgraded them, they simply upgraded automatically again.

It still shows that 2.2.13 is available.

The firmware can also be downloaded from here for manually downgrading devices
https://www.3cx.com/support/phone-firmwares/

Alternatively the firmware needs to be removed from the machine first so it can re-discover the older version.

New firmware has now been released which addresses the issue.

Thanks for the update on this. I will see if I can find a phone I can test this update on.
