Hi all,

As of about 7 or 8 days ago we have problems with our three Fanvil X3G phones. They are randomly dropping calls or giving one way audio. 3CX V18 Update 4 Build 965 running on Azure. Two SBC's in cluster on the local LAN both running 18.1.36. The server and SBC's have not been updated in this time and no network changes have been made as I have been on holiday! We have a mixture of around 30 T23G and T27G's which are unaffected. Rebooting them makes no difference, re-provisioning doesn't work because I haven't been able to re-provision or push firmware to these phones for over 24 months from the console and assume that's just something that doesn't work with these phones (same on multiple sites, always have to manually upgrade / reprogram).

I have these phones at other sites and as yet haven't had any reports of one way audio or stability issues so only seems to be affecting this site.

Does anyone else have this issue?

Thanks

Graham

Just to say I have manually re-provisioned, checked the network, checked codecs, rebooted etc - this is still occurring.

What firmware version are they all running?

Hi @JohnS_3CX

Sorry - been on leave. They are running 2.14.0.7387 - latest I can download. I have had to start pulling them and replacing with Yealinks as they're basically inoperable as they are. Happy to packet trace etc if it helps?

Thanks

Graham

Hi Graham,

That is the correct version you should be on, it was released a year ago and included a root CA update.

Some questions:

- Are you using a 3CX FQDN or custom?
- Are the phones using custom templates or the default ones 3CX provides?
- Have you tried factory resetting one of them at least, and reprovisioning it via the management console?
- Do your extensions / BLFs contain special characters? (Fanvil limitation applies)

Hiya,

Yes to 3CX FQDN
Default Templates
Factory Reset - I thought that had been done by another tech but I'll double check (certainly re-provision has been)
No BLF's in use for these phones

OK, no factory reset done, have just done it now and will report back. Was this a requirement of the last firmware update for the Fanvil?

Not a requirement, we are just troubleshooting now to establish whether provisioning works on a fresh phone.

Has it provisioned ok via your management console after the factory reset?
