Hi

I'm not certain if this is an issue specific to these Fanvil phones, however being on v18 Update 3 + Hostfix we had to create new phone accounts and while provisioning the connected 3CX phones I realized that changes in the Codec preference were not saved on the PBX. When I reload the page, the code settings previously saved are set back to their defaults.

I have read through the changelog up to Update 4 but have not found an indication that this is a known issue addressed by an update - any ideas?

Looking forward for a pointer - if there are debug logs to check out, I'm more than happy to learn about.

Hello,

1. Please delete the phone entries from your extension and press OK.

2. Then edit the extension again and if there are phone entries that reappeared, remove them too and press OK.

3. Check a 3rd time to ensure the extension is now clear, and then go and factory reset your phones.

You can now assign the phone from scratch, and the codec priorities should be saved.

Once this is all done, make sure you update the PBX to Update 4 ASAP, to prepare yourself for the upcoming Update 5.

Hi John

Thank you, that seems to have fixed the issue, honestly not something pretty obvious to find out, but it worked. :)

The changelog between U3 and U4 doesn't contain anything that points towards this issue being addressed (other than maybe Fanvil templates getting updated). Should we update our provisioning documentation so that phones get completely deleted from 3CX before deleting the user account and doing a factory reset ahead of re-assigning a hardphone to a new user?

Not strictly necessary, this might happen rarely in releases before U5 but if you come across it again please let me know.
