I'm taking a "hands off" approach, mostly 3CX seems to look after itself and doesn't need "poking". The only trouble is I sometimes come back to dire warnings about unsupported phones due to firmware being out of date.

In the mean time the unsupported firmware seems to be working fine.

If the update is really important e.g. for security reasons then can I set a scheduled update time and have 3CX automatically push updates so it updates out of hours.

It would be nice if the phone manufactures gave some indication of "nice to have" updates vs. "critical" updates.

Hi @Oliver Broad,

When new firmware is released, yes the phone will show as unsupported when a new version is released. We only support one version, and that is the latest version.

I understand your concern with regards to critical vs nice to have updates. To check if the update is critical, you could check the manufacturer's website regarding the release notes of the update. This should give you an indication as to how critical the update is. However, we suggest always being up to date as changes may add features which require the latest update, and of course we only support the latest version.

With regards to scheduling, we don't suggest creating a scheduled update as there are a few different scenarios where this could cause a problem. If you're dealing with a lot of phones and each is downloading a large file, this could cause strain on your server.
