Force disconnection a long distance call after a certain period

Hi,
Is there an option or way to force or graceful disconnection of a long distance calls or calls starting with 00 after a certain amount of time?

We use patton gateway and 3cx. is it be done on gateway or in 3cx? If it can be done in 3cx, where it could be?

It should apply for outgoing calls only.

Hello @Basheerpt

The PBX has a setting for the maximum call duration allowed but this applies to all calls. There is nothing specific regarding international calls.
The setting can be found under Settings / Parameters. Search for "MAXCALLDURATION". the default value is 3 hours (10800 seconds). This applies to all calls though. I would ask your provider if they can set a limit on international calls.
Alternatively you can create a feature request on our Ideas section of the forum where it can be upvoted by other users and evaluated by the appropriate department.

You could create a service using the Call Control API that monitors all external calls and drops the call if it exceeds the maximum. You could even be nice about it by barging into the call with a message similar to "I'm sorry, your call has exceeded the maximum permitted length. This call will be terminated in 15 seconds". Then drop the call 15 seconds later.

You might ask your provider if they allow you to specify a time limit on calls, that they would then implement.

The concern with doing this at the provider is that you may have local and long distance calls going over the same trunk and they might set a global limit for ALL calls. You would need to confirm that they can be selective about what calls to drop

This option applies for all calls.
