Greetings,

Does anyone knows a way to avoid asking the visitor to download 3CX Video Conference app and use the web version?

Thanks guys,

Alex Lana

We would've preferred that your mobile device's browser could be used, but unfortunately that's not possible on some devices.

  1. iPhones which use Apple's native browser don't support all of WebRTC's features and so it's not possible to have meetings there.
  2. With an iPhone, even if by some chance you do have Chrome, the app may not run well due to restrictions on iOS itself.

On Android it's even worse because many phones still come with a default browser no one's ever heard of. And again, different Android devices operating systems act differently and can cause problems joining a meeting or inside a meeting.

An app fixes all of these problems as we bypass everything that's restrictive about these browsers & browser O/S interaction. Without the app, people would have too many cross-vendor or device issues. The way everything works now ensures everyone can use video conferencing.

What about adding an "Open with Device Browser anyways" option to the join page?

We have the issue too, we were asked if we could deliver a web meeting solution for a TV station, that would like the ability to send out an e-mail or SMS to people they want to interview during eg. a Braking News, and they look for a "so simple to use as possible solution" - with simple setup instructions, eg. "Turn your Phone to Landscape", Click here and you are connected", "test your microphone", "adjust your position to the screen so you only fill half", "wait on the line until we are ready to speak with you." etc. Would be great with this customizable info. Today they cannot use our solution, due to the need of installing the WEB Meeting client - and it isn't all people with an opinion who have Phone App skills, so a link and we are going, would have been great ;)
Would have been nice to start counting 3CX Logos on-screen on the national TV:)
