Forwarding a Call from SIP trunk directly to Outbound Rule

Connected an 3rd party PBX like Asterisk on our 3CX server via a SIP trunk. Now, when the Asterisk PBX makes a call outside comes in as an incoming call to our 3CX since a SIP Trunk requires a "Default route" which is by default an extension. How can the "Default route" be routed to the Outbound Rule, as currently it just goes to voicemail.

Hi @lsuae-johnm please configure a 3CX Master Bridge instead of a standard SIP trunk.

First, create the Master Bridge in 3CX. Then, configure a SIP trunk on the remote system and register it using the 3CX virtual extension credentials (extension number and password).

This setup eliminates the need for inbound rules or DIDs in 3CX, as the remote system authenticates directly through the bridge credentials. Finally, set up an outbound rule in 3CX to route these incoming calls out to the PSTN via 3CX's active lines. For security, ensure the outbound rule strictly filters by specific prefix and digit length to prevent unauthorized outbound call routing.

I'm doing this exact same thing. Do I need to check the remote PBX uses a tunnel on the 3cx Master Bridge?

Hi @jrhymer enable the tunnel connection only if you are bridging two 3CX systems, if the other end is a third-party system then leave it as disabled.
